Reese 5th Wheel Installation Kit for 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 Crew Cab
Question:
Does the Reese 5th wheel slider hitch Model RP30144 work for a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 Crew Cab? The reason I ask is because in the review video a Ford is mentioned so I want to be sure that it works for any manufacture short bed less than 8 pick up. I understand that the brackets are specific to the truck.

The Reese Elite Series Pre-Assembled 5th Wheel Slider Hitch # RP30144 will fit into any brand of industry-standard 5th wheel base rails (ISRs) that mount in a truck bed. As you noted, the brackets used to install such rails are vehicle-specific, but the hitch itself is not and will work in any short-bed pickup with ISRs to provide additional turning clearance for your 5th wheel.
For the installation kit you can use Reese base rail kit # RP56007-53 which fits both the Classic and New Body Silverado. This kit includes the rails and frame brackets and will take less time and less drilling to install than universal-fit kits. An installation video is linked for you.
