How to Select a Hitch Mount Bike Rack that Will Clear a Rear Mounted Spare Tire
Question:
Just wondering how this works for a car that has spare tire mounted on back?

On vehicles that have a rear-mounted spare tire you will need to look at bike racks that extend out far enough to clear the spare. To figure this out there is a measurement needed on the vehicle side. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back to the distance needed to clear the spare.
The Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR measures 13-1/2 inches from the pin hole to the nearest upright but the first bike will be closer. If you can tell me the measurement to clear the spare I can make some recommendations. I linked a help article with more information on measuring.
