Installing a Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller on a 2013 Toyota Tacoma

Question:

Can you tell me which wires go where from the voyager trailer brake unit to the Tacoma wiring harness that comes with the truck. I noticed theres four wires coming out of the voyager and my wiring harness has sex. It used to be wired for a ford so I will probably have to cut the wires to redo, thanks in advance

Yes, you will have to remove the current connector that is installed on your Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller, # 39510.

The typical wiring from the brake controller is as follows: White wire is ground, Black wire is 12-volt power, Red wire will connect to brake light switch, and the Blue wire will complete the electric trailer brake circuit.

If you decide to use the factory harness that was included with the vehicle, the connections are as follows: Black/Red to brake controller Black wire, Red to brake controller Blue wire, Green/White to brake controller Red wire, and Brown to brake controller White wire. The extra Green wire on the factory plug will wire into the headlight switch.
