Helpful Expert Reply:

The head on the Trailair Rota-Flex 5th Wheel pin Box # LC328330 referenced in your question is designed to pivot slightly where the trailer and hitch are connected. This subtle pivot allows for controlled back and forth movement to reduce jarring and chucking, ultimately resulting in a safer and more comfortable ride.

The skid plate on the pin box is still going to be quite stiff by design. Light jarring experienced while towing will not move this plate very much but any chucking experienced during travel will be dampened by the pin box.

The bolts that hold the pin plate to the pin box are properly torqued during the assembly process. Once installed, the pin box does not need any further adjustments.

I have also attached a demonstration video of this pin box for you to check out.
