Installing Brake Controller On 2004 Chevrolet Silverado With Tow Package
Question:
I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado with the tow package and want to add a brake controller. I have the factory plug that came with the truck and it has 5 wires on it. Red, dark blue, light blue, brown and black. I want to add a Voyager XP controller to it and it has 4 wires on the back of it. Red, black, blue and white. Which wires would I connect together with butt connectors? Thanks in advance for any help.

The easiest way to install the brake controller is to use the # 3015-P plug-in adapter on your 2004 Silverado.
You can just plug one end in to the back of the brake controller and the other end plugs into the port inside the black box under your dash. The black box is located to the left of the steering column, just above the carpet. To plug in the adapter, first remove the cover on the box. The adapter plugs into the second slot from the left, on the top row.
