Chances are that your 2001 Audi Allroad Quattro has a light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I hitch installed since that is the only type we offer for the car. There should be a safety sticker on the hitch that tells you its Class Rating and maximum tongue weight and maximum trailer weight. If your hitch is indeed a Class I type then you will need to select a compatible 2-bike Class I bike rack. Class I hitches can carry only 2 bikes.

The key for selecting a bike rack for your hitch is knowing how far under the rear of the car the hitch pin hole is. This tells you the amount of clearance you need from the rack. For instance, one of my favorite Class I racks is the Curt # C18085. This rack provides a foot of clearance from the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the rack, more than most racks. It also provides the ease of light weight (only 46-lbs), flexibility to work on cars and on RVs too, along with a hefty 90-lb total bike weight rating. With it you can use hitch lock # e98879 to secure the rack and cable lock # e98891 to lock the bikes.

Please feel free to tell me your hitch measurement and a bit about your bikes so I can offer more recommendations. You can refer to the linked article for guidance on choosing a bike rack.
