Blue Ox Patriot Supplemental Braking System Recommendation for 2015 Chevy Tahoe
Question:
Greetings, I have a new base plate and tow system purchased from etrailer in Feb. Now looking at a wiring harness that will go from the mount on front of Tahoe to provide tail-signal lights and power to the blue ox brake for operation. Directions for my 2015 Tahoe indicate I need to disconnect negative so there is no power inside Tahoe for brake operation. I have a diesel motorhome so 99 of braking is done by jake, only brake to hold at lights. I have trailer brake controller in motorhome and power to 7 pin connector at rear of motorhome. I personally would like a system that applies Tahoe brakes when brakes are applied in motorhome. Does the Patriot meet my expectations?

The easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
Since your vehicle requires the battery be disconnected you would also need to install the part # RM-9332 to give you an additional outlet for the system.
