I have a solution for you. The Yakima TimberLine Towers, # Y33TR, are the confirmed feet to fit the raised side rails on your 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe. These feet will mount to your side rails and with the added SKS Lock Cores, # Y07204, can be lock on to these rails to deter theft.
As for crossbars, Yakima has three styles that will fit the TimberLine feet and your work with your Tahoe. For your application, I like the Yakima Round 58 Inch CrossBars, # Y00409, because of there versatility and economical pricing. These round cross bars have a weight capacity of 165 lbs and will are compatible with a variety of roof rack accessories. A round Bar Adapter, # Y03536, is required to mount the round cross bars to the TimberLine feet.
Hobie kayaks are known to be heavy compared to typical kayaks. Although the crossbars are rated up to 165 lbs, the weight capacity of your Tahoe's roof is an important figure to know. I would check with your local Chevrolet dealer to find out what is your vehicle roof weight capacity. As long as your Hobie does not exceed the weight your roof can handle, this rack will work well with your application.
