Flat Towing Lighting Options for a 2016 Honda CR-V That Is Being Towed on a Trailer

Question:

The 2016 CR-V is being highly discouraged against Dinghy Towing, but I would like to utilize all of its tail/turn/brake lights, while towing mine on a flatbed car-hauler/trailer. The U-Haul car trailer and most of the other car trailers out there, sit low to the ground, and I would like to get more indication lights up at eye-level. I have both, plus 7-4 adapter & a Y-adapter for 4-wire flat. My plan was trailer to the 7-4 adapter and the CR-V to the 4-wire Any recommendations?

I have a solution for you. Since you have both a 7-way and 4-flat on your tow vehicle your best option would be to use one of the magnetic tow bar lighting kits we carry.

I recommend the Optronics Magnetic Tow Lights, # TL21RK. Using this kit will eliminate wiring into your Honda's wiring. Both magnetic lights will have tail, turn, and brake light functions.

The lights will plug in to the tow vehicle's 4-flat connector and the lights magnetic base can mount on the trailer or the vehicle.

Since, you will never actually flat tow your CR-V with all four wheels on the ground, it makes sense that you would not have to wire your vehicle up for this flat tow function. Using the magnetic lights will take less time to install and is DOT compliant.
