Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2017 Subaru Outback with Factory 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch

Will this rack work. Currently using the Yakima bike rack but want to upgrade. Current rack: Y02443

The factory Subaru hitch on your 2017 Outback Wagon has the pin hole very close to the end of the receiver. This is a problem for most bike racks because it means that not enough of the rack shank will be in the receiver to safely use the rack. The Kuat Sherpa # SH12G pin hole is not far back enough on its shank for enough of the shank to fit in the receiver of the OEM Subaru hitch.
Pretty much the only bike rack I recommend for the factory Subaru hitch is the Swagman XC # S64650. It is also only about 25 pounds! This is a fairly basic rack though and certainly does not have all of the bells and whistles that the Yakima rack you are used to. But it will be safe and I know it will work so it is definitely worth consideration. I recommend using hitch and cable lock # S64031 for this application.
