Class I Hitch for 2017 Mazda 3 Sedan for Transporting Bikes
Question:
Im going to purchase a 2017 Mazda 3 Sedan this week and Im trying to figure out the best way to carry my bike with it. I hate roof racks and want to do a hitch. I see 24914 will fit a hatchback, will it fit the sedan also?

My contact at Draw-Tite advised that they gave recently confirmed the fit of hitch # 24912 on the 2017 Mazda 3 Sedan. This is a light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I hitch that can handle the weight of up to 2 bikes, but not more than 2. A hitch-mount bike rack is the best way to protect your new car's paint finish.
In this hitch you will need to use a Class I-compatible 2-bike rack like one of those shown on the linked page. A great option for a platform-style rack is the Swagman XTC-2 # S64670 or for a hanging style carrier you might consider the Thule Camber # TH9058. The two linked articles will help you choose the best rack for your specific bikes.
