Does The Heat Shield Need To Be Trimmed Or Can It Be Removed When Installing etrailer # e98903
Question:
Hi, Can I just remove the underbody panel instead of trimming it? When I take the hitch off, I can then put it back intact. Will that damage the vehicle? Thanks

On your 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L model, you can simply remove the underbody panel as you stated when installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98903. I don't recommend leaving the panel off completely because it is a heat shield to protect other components. You can see in the video that we trim it slightly more than is needed to make the install easier. Removing more than what we did in the video is not recommended.
