Will The RoadMaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar # RM-522 Fit My 1997 Jeep Wrangler Tow Bar

If your Jeep has the vehicle specific base plate kit mounted to the Jeep, then the RoadMaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar, part # RM-522, will fit your 1997 Jeep Wrangler. Part # RM-522 is compatible with Roadmaster EZ, MX, XL, and Standard base plates and vehicles that weigh less than 6,000 pounds.
The correct base plate kit that we have available to fit a 1997 Jeep Wrangler with factory double tube bumper is the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms, part # RM-521424-4, which is compatible with the Falcon Tow Bar # RM-522.
The RoadMaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar, is a good choice and I would recommend for your 1997 Jeep Wrangler. The Falcon Tow Bar is a non-binding tow bar which makes hooking up and disconnecting your Jeep easier without having to be on perfectly level ground. Installation of the tow bar is made simply with the integrated quick disconnects and the Autowlok feature which automatically centers and locks the tow bar arms (see video).
In addition to base plates and a tow bar, you will need safety cables, vehicle wiring or lights, and a supplemental braking system if you do not already have these items.
The Roadmaster 68 Inch Coiled Safety Cables, part # RM-643, will work well to keep your vehicle attached to your RV in the event that your tow bar were to become disconnected from your hitch.
If you will not be flat-towing your Jeep often, I would recommend the Magnetic Towing Light Kit, part # RM-2120. If you will be towing often, I would recommend the Tail Light Isolating Diode System, part # 38955, which would spice into your vehicles tail light circuit and plug into a 4-way on your RV.
Most states require that you use a supplemental braking system when flat-towing a vehicle. I would recommend the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Proportional Braking System, part # RM-9400. The Even Brake System will help you slow down and reduce the wear on the brakes of your motor home.
Before flat-towing your Jeep, you will want to check your vehicles owners manual or with your Jeep dealer for specific steps needed to take before towing. Some vehicles must be equipped with a transmission lube pump, axle disconnect, or free-wheeling hubs before they can be towed.
I have linked instructions and a video review of the RoadMaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar, part # RM-522, that you may find as a good reference. I have also linked FAQ Articles on base plates, tow bars, and wiring.
