Will Swagman XTC 2 Hold Fat Bikes and Clear Spare Tire on a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

I own a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser and need to know if this rack will work. Additionally, we have fat tire bikes with tires up to 4.8 inches wide. Do the wheel holders adapt to that size?

First, the Swagman XTC 2-Bike Platform Rack # S64670 is not compatible with fat bikes. It accepts tires up to 2.5 inches wide but not to worry because there are many other options that will work with fat bikes.

The Saris Freedom # SA4412B-FB is the fat bike version of the Freedom. It will accept tires up to 5 inches wide. To determine if it will clear the spare on the back of your 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser there is one measurement needed. On the hitch measure from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back to the distance required to clear the spare. If that distance is less than 10 inches then the rack will clear the spare.
