Prodigy P2 Brake Controller Appears To Stay on All The Time On 2011 Toyota 4Runner
Question:
Today I installed my new Prodigy P2 brake controller into my 2011 Toyota 4Runner equipped with the factory tow package. I mated the supplied toyota brake controller plug to the Prodigy cable. Everything works fine except the 12 volt lead black from the vehicle is not key switched so the Prodigy brake controller stays on all the time. Has anyone with the newer generation 4runner ever ran into this and if so what is the fix?

A lot of people believe that the Prodigy P2, part # 90885 is not turning off.
The controller will stay on for approximately 20 to 30 minutes when you turn the vehicle off. The biggest problem is that when someone uses their key fob to open their truck or car, it will flash the brake lights and wake up the brake controller.
If there was an issue with the brake controller staying on constantly and getting a signal when it should not then you would get messages on your dash from the vehicle.
