Recommended Replacement Lock/Latch For Avion Barman L-400 Lock
Question:
Hi, We recently purchased a 1983 Avion 34 foot trailer. The Bargman L-400 lock in the door latch is missing. This makes it possible for a child to lock him or herself into the trailer. Are you able to help either find a Bargman L-400 lock or a replacement latch? Thanks for your help!

The old Bargman L400 series locks you have on the trailer currently haven't been made for a very long time and apparently due to their rarity and how desirable they are people sell them for quite a bit of money when they can find them. I can't help you find those.
For a similar handle lock you could use the Full Size Locking Steel Flush Door Latch # L3980. I recommend you consider the "Junior" Locking Stainless Steel Flush Door Latch with Inside Release # L1833 or # PLR5115 to allow the child a way out from the inside.

Do you have pictures of this on a avion? I dont understand how this would work well since the dimensions are so different. A Bargman l400 is almost 7 inches by 3.
