The Thule Hitching Post # TH934XTR measures 13-1/2 inches from the hitch pin hole to the upright mast. This is a 4 bike rack that will carry bikes up to 35 pounds each. It will fit Class I, II, and III hitch receivers and tilts down to access the rear of your vehicle. There's also a hitch lock available, # THSTL2.
If any of the bikes you're going to be carrying are women's or children's bikes then you'll likely need an adapter bar. The Kuat Ubar # UB01 will create the horizontal cross tube a typical men's bike has so a children's or women's bike will hang level on a hanging bike rack.
I've attached video reviews of each product for you.
