I dont have installation manual for correct location. distance from back of 08 ford 250 super duty to 1st rail, 16k Reese slider hitch, short bed?

On your 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty Short Bed if you are using the Reese Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit, part # RP50082-58, the distance from the rear edge of the truck bed to the rear edge of the front base rail closest to the truck cab is 54-3/16 inches.
If you are using the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit, part # RP30035, the distance is measured from the rear edge of the truck to the rear edge of the base rail closest to the tailgate of the truck is 32-1/2 inches.
