Recommended Axles For Travel Trailer With 68-1/4 Inch Spring Center To Spring Center Measurement
Question:
I have tandem 3500lb round axles on my 97 26. The 2.375inch o.d. axles with 4 have measurements of : 83 Face-Face, 68.25inch spring ctr-ctr. After hours of comparison onLine and elsewhere Im inclined to order the following from your company: 2 - 35545E-ST-89 complete Dexter axle assys 4 - SP-220275 25.25inch 4,000lb springs 1 - K71-652-00 Dexter E-Z Flex equaLizer kit 2 - K71-384-00 Over-Under conversion kits i made it from WA to CAs central valley on my first trip with it, but it was all over the place at 55 and exciting when getting passed by semis. And it is so Low it scrapes on even mildly graded driveways. I understand doing this will: 1 require me to manually locate and weld the spring seat to the axles, 2: require fender flares as the tires may protrude approx. 1, and 3: give me about 6+foot of lift. The trailer will never be empty and most likely closer to max. weight from here on, even with empty holding tanks. And clearance and reliability are priorities. Your thoughts wouLd be greatly appreciated! Thank You

You do have some odd measurements. You can absolutely use the parts that you mentioned and drastically change all of your trailer connection points (Plan A), however, I recommend doing something much easier and cleaner. It won't require finding new connection points for your springs, building outer wells, or adding different springs. So consider this Plan B.
We have the Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - 4" Lift Spindle - Off-Road Tires - 3,500 lbs # ASR35HDS02. This is able to be used in a tandem axle application. I recommend the 4 inch lift spindle because you are already wanting more clearance. This does require you to install a peice of 2 inch by 3 inch tubing for each set through the integrate hole in the Axle-less Suspension system. Then all you need to do is bolt the suspension to the side of the trailer's frame with three bolts. You can always fabricate something if you wish to.
This system works with the 12" Nev-R-Adjust Electric Brake Assembly for 6K Axles - LH # 23-458 as well as the right hand side # 23-459. It uses the Dexter Axle Trailer Hub Assembly - 5,200-lb and 6,000-lb Axles - 6 on 5-1/2 - E-Z Lube # 8-201-9UC3-EZ. This will give you a factory look with greater ground clearance, and all new parts.
For your sway control, I recommend getting a weight distribution system with anti-sway. That system will largely depend on what you do with the axles. I've linked the page for you so you can see your option.
