Fifth Wheel Hitch Replacement for Husky 16K 5th Wheel Hitch in 2011 Chevy Silverado

Question:

Hi, I have a Husky 16K EZ Roller 5th wheel hitch. It is installed in my 2011 Chevy 3500HD crew cab with 8 foot bed and dual rear wheels. Towing capacity is 21,500 lbs. I am contemplating purchasing a Toy Hauler that has a GVW of 20,000 lbs. I obviously need to purchase a 5th wheel hitch with a higher towing capacity. Considering Husky 22K and would like to know if existing rails will work or not. I dont know the age of the hitch but I know it was installed in an earlier model truck might have been as early as 2007 before it was installed in my 2011. Not necessarily stuck on a Husky if a different brand such as a Reese would use the same rails.

The rails you have installed in the bed of your 2011 Chevy Silverado 3500HD are considered industry standard fift wheel rails which means they basically will fit all fifth wheel hitches.

I would go with the Reese 22k Fifth Wheel HItch part # RP30033 as it will fit your rails and has a great jaw design which will give you a quiet ride. Reese has a great reputation in the RV community as well.
