How to Determine if Thule T2 Pro XTR Will Clear Truck Tailgate When Folded Down

Question:

if the XTR was laying flat open/use position, with no bikes, will the tail gate hit if it was in the open/down position? in other words, if the top of the closest tire basket lower then the bottom of the tailgate when the tailgate is down. Thanks

I went and grabbed one of the Thule T2 XTR # TH83JV we have in stock and got a measurement that will help you figure out if the rack will let your tailgate close when the arms are folded down.

If you measure from the top of your hitch opening up 14-1/4 inches that's where the very top of this rack would be when folded down. So if you have a greater distance between the top of the hitch opening and the tailgate when folded down this rack will clear.
