Do You Have to Hit Wall Stud to Attach Strombert Carlson RV Exterior Ladder w/ Hinges
Question:
Do you have to hit a stud to attach the letter ladder

Expert Reply:
When installing the mounting brackets and support pegs of a ladder like the Stromberg Carlson RV Exterior Ladder w/ Hinges # LA-401 onto your RV, it is important that the screws are fastened to the RV's backing or sub frame. The backing on an RV refers to a support structure in the wall, like a wall stud. So attaching the brackets to this or wall studs is necessary because the outer sheathing will not provide enough support for the ladder, especially when somebody attempts to climb it.
I have also included a demonstration video of this ladder for your review.
