Troubleshooting Trailer Taillights Not Working After 37185 Adapter Install
Question:
When I install adapter and plug boat trailer to adapter running lights do not work.This is a new boat and when towed with vehicle equipped with 7 way plug everything worked. I have not connected any of the wiring other than the 4 way plug. Question #2 I have surge brakes, if I connect purple wire to backup light wire on tow vehicle will brakes not inguage when backing up? Thanks

Connect the ground wire on the adapter and you should see the lights start to work. The purple wire being ran to the reverse light circuit will activate the reverse lockout solenoid and allow the trailer to be backed up.
