How to Enlarge the Frame Access Holes on a 2007 Honda CRV When Installing Curt Trailer Hitch 11555
Question:
I Have a 2007 Honda CRV. Can this Trailer hitch 11555 be mounted without drilling larger holes in the frame? I lowered the exhaust and am ready to mount and the spacer does not fit through the hole. I ordered this because your site said no drilling required. Can you help with instructions of how to mount without drilling?

You will not need to drill to enlarge the access holes on the frame of your 2007 Honda CRV. You only need to shave down the edge of the holes slightly until you are able to slide in the 1 inch x 3 inch spacers. This can be done with a metal file. The spacer will sit flat across the access hole once installed, so you will only need to make enough room to get the spacer and bolt in diagonally, so you can pull them back down and seat the spacer against the frame.
Install the tow hook attachment bolt to hold up the hitch, and line up the hitch until it is level. Install and tighten up the tow loop attachment fasteners, once you have fishwired the bolts and spacers down on either side, you can go ahead and install the flange nuts and torque everything down as noted in the instructions.
You can view the installation instructions for the # 11555 hitch at the link provided, if needed.
