Can E-Bikes Be Carried On 2017 Subaru Impreza Wagon

Question:

I have 2 E-bikes that I would like to carry on a hitch mounted rack. They each weigh 60lbs. One is a fat bike with 4inch wheels, the other has a 2.3inch wheel. my car is a 2017 Subaru Impreza hatchback. I would like to know which racks works best here that can carry 2 bikes or 4 bikes the other 2 being standard road bikes. Thank you in advance.

We have everything you need to carry your bikes on your 2017 Subaru Impreza. First of all you need a 2 inch Class III trailer hitch receiver. There's only one, the EcoHitch # 306-X7350. All of the other hiches for your Impreza are Class I hitches which will not be able to carry all 4 bikes and probably can't hanlde the e-bikes at all. I highly recommend making sure the Impreza itself is rated for the weight of your bike because adding a higher rated hitch won't increase the vehicle's capabilities.

If you're good to go with the hitch then I recommend the Saris Freedom SuperClamp, part # SA4026F. It can handle up to 60 pound bikes (just make sure those two are loaded closest to the vehicle) and up to 4-1/2 inch tires. It also includes locks for bikes and the rack.
