Troubleshooting Brake Controller that Only Works with Override Lever
Question:
I have a 2015 ram 1500 and bought the wiring harness to plug in. When I press on the break pedal the controller says .c and dont activate the trailer breaks. When I use the button on the controller to activate trailer breaks they work. I cant seem to figure out why it doesnt work with the pedal.

Sounds like the problem is that you aren't getting a stoplight circuit activation on the red wire of the controller. If you test the red wire of the controller with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 does the circuit tester show that voltage is applied? If so then the controller is in need of replacing.
If not then the problem is most likely a blown third brake light fuse.
