Recommended Brake Controller Wiring For 2002 Holiday Rambler Vacationer
Question:
I have a 2002 Holiday Rambler Vacationer that has a rectangular 6 pin trailer plug. I want to pull a 16foot cargo trailer with 7 pin plug with ebrakes. Can you help me with the wiring adapters and brake controller so I have full function of lights and brakes in the trailer.

For your 2002 Holiday Rambler Vacationer, you will want to cut your 6 pin and connect it to the Universal Brake Controller Wiring Kit # ETBC7. I've attached an article to help you with the wiring functions but I recommend testing them using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 instead of relying on color.
This brake controller wiring kit will give you the 7-way connector along with the wiring, circuit breakers, and connectors required to run a brake controller. You may need the extra wire in the # 10-2-1 along with some extra butt connectors # DW05745-10.
For your brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is a very easy to understand and operate controller due to its LCD screen. It removes lights and codes from the equation allow you to see what you need to know at a glance. It is easy to adjust to your driving preferences and has 3 levels of boost.
