Towing Mirror Recommendation for a 2012 GMC Yukon XL

Question:

CM10900, CTM1600, KS80900 I am looking at three different mirrors. shown in the subject line. I have a 2012 Yukon XL SLT. I used a mirror set similar to the CM 10900 on a 2006 F150 and they worked well. Can the set Screw on the KS 80900 be adjusted to snug the mirror in place? and Can you back off the set screw to make removal of the mirror easier? The reviews indicate that the mirrors require a little too much pressure to remove, which might threaten damage to the vehicle mirror. On the CTM 1600 it seems there was some concern about the length of one of the bolts. All in all I would prefer to have no hardware to lose or fuss with, but durability and glass/mirror quality would outweigh those concerns. SO, what am I looking at here? Any difference in mirror quality/ How about durability? Thanks!!!

Based on your concerns the CIPA towing mirrors, # CM10900, are the best option for your 2012 GMC Yukon XL. They have minimal hardware, they would be the best out of the options in terms of keeping the stock mirror protected, and they are made with quality materials including the glass.

The K-Source mirrors # KS80900 do require a bit of force to put on and take off so the potential for accidently applying too much force and damaging something is a possibility.

And the Longview mirrors # CTM1600 have a lot of hardware that could easily get misplaced. Otherwise they are a solid option.

Given these 3 options if it were me I would go with the CIPA mirrors # CM10900.
