Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2015 Dodge Durango V6 with Tow Package
Question:
Hi, I need help picking a product. I need a trailer brake controller for a 2015 Dodge Durango v6 with tow pkg. I would like a controller that I can install myself and that is removable. There is not much space in between the dash and my legs and I would like to remove the controller when I am not using it.

For your 2015 Dodge Durango. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller, # 90195. The P3 brake controller is one of our most popular controllers because of how easy the controller is to use and install.
The P3 is a proportional controller, which means it uses sensors to apply the trailer brakes at the same intensity as your are applying your vehicles brakes.
What I like about the Prodigy P3 is it includes a mounting bracket that will allow you to easily install and remove the controller if needed. Many brake controllers will use a bracket that you will have to mount the controller with screws or bolts. The P3 mount uses spring tension that holds the controller in place.
For your Durango, you will also need a wiring harness, # TK93VR, to connect your controller to your vehicle's tow package wiring. The wiring harness will plug into the plug that is located under the driver's side dash up behind the emergency brake pedal.
I have attached an installation video of the P3 on a 2014 Dodge Durango for you to review. The video will show you where the wiring plug will be located for you to plug in your brake controller.
