Weight Distribution/Sway Control System for a 2010 Ford F-150 with Electronic Sway Control
Question:
I am planning to purchase a trailer with a GVWR = 6400 lbs and a TW = 750 lbs. The tow vehicle is a 2010 Ford F-150 with a Class III hitch rated for 10500 lbs/TW=1050 lbs with weight distribution. The tow vehicle also has electronic sway control built in, though Im thinking that mechanical sway control would be a plus. Do you agree with that approach and what weight distribution/sway control do you recommend for this combination? Thank you in advance.

Yes, I do agree with your assessment that mechanical sway control would be a plus if needed. I would start off with a weight distribution system that is capable of having a dual cam sway control system added to it. This way you and get the weight distribution system installed and set up properly for your truck and trailer and then take it on a test run to see if sway control is needed.
If it is not needed, you do not have money invested in the extra parts. If needed you can then add the best sway control available, dual cam sway control. Dual cam sway control is proactive rather than reactive like the friction type sway control on the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution w Sway Control system, item # RP66560, that you selected.
For your setup I would recommend the Reese Weight Distribution System w Shank - Trunnion Bar - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW, item # RP66542, and the Tow Ready Hitch Ball, item # 19286.
You could then add the Reese Dual Cam High-Performance Sway Control, item # RP26002, if sway control is needed.
Finally, if you like the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution system, item # RP66560, it is a very good system that will assist your vehicle with sway control, and has the correct capacities for distributing the tongue weight from your trailer to the vehicle and trailer axles.
I have provided links to some weight distribution system information and videos for you to review.
