Installation of Derale Series 8000 Transmission Cooler on 2016 Honda Pilot

Question:

I received the Derale Series 8000 Plate-fin Trans Cooler Kit, and we just wondering if it matters which direction the fluid is going through the cooler. For example, are the top and bottom ports on the cooler itself interchangeable, or should the top or bottom port be used specifically as the inlet? Also, a good portion of the cooler will be blocked by the front bumper following the installation instructions. Will the cooler still receive adequate air. I will be towing a 4000-4500 point load a few times a year with the Pilot

The location you install the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13503 can be anywhere you can get it to fit. So if you find a better location that will increase the airflow it receives I suggest using it. The more airflow the better.

To answer your first question last, it does not matter which fitting on the cooler is used as the inlet or the outlet. Whichever way works the easiest for your application is the correct way.

I attached an install video you may want to take a look at as well.
