Recommended Bike Rack To Carry At Least 3 Bikes On 2015 Subaru Impreza
Question:
I have a 2015 Subaru Impreza. I want to purchase a bike rack that will carry at least 3 bikes. I dont know where to begin. Do I need to first purchase a trailer hitch? What kind? Can you suggest a sturdy bike rack but one that doesnt break the bank? Thanks for any help.

There are a couple of options for you that will work with your 2015 Subaru Impreza. You can go with a trunk mounted bike rack which will not have a 4 bike option, or you can go with a hitch mounted rack.
The Thule OutWay 3-Bike Rack # TH56BV is my recommendation for your Impreza. It comes with all the integrated locking features to keep your bikes and the rack itself secure to your vehicle. This rack is rated for bikes up to 33 lbs each.
For any hanging bike rack, I recommend using Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes, # 64005. This will give you the ability to carry your step through frame bikes level and allow greater ground clearance.
Your other option is to get a trailer hitch receiver and hitch mounted rack. If you have a Sedan, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver Class I - 1-1/4" # 24960 and if you have the wagon with single exhaust # 24886. This will give you an easy to install hitch that doesn't require a support strap to use your bike rack.
For a bike rack, the Thule Hitching Post Pro - Folding Tilting 4 Bike Rack w Anti-Sway - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches, # TH934XTR is a great option. I do want to point out that when using a class 1 hitch which is all that is available for your vehice, you can only carry 2 bikes with most racks. Because of this limitation, you may want to go with the trunk mounted option to allow you to carry 3 bikes.
