Will Installing A Trailer Hitch Receiver Interfere With The Lift Gate Sensors On My 2016 Ford Edge?
Question:
Information about a trailer hitch #75234 I purchased back on Dec. 23 It was for a 2016 Ford Edge Titanium, was wondering if the installation would interfere with the sensors for the lift gate. Not sure to go ahead and install. Thank you,

It is possible that the trailer hitch installed will partially block some of the bottom sensors and limit the area the sensors can see. The hitch may block the sensors that are in the middle between the hitch receiver and the exhaust tips at the back. Some people have trouble and others do not so it would seem that the sensors are not uniformly positioned on all of the vehicles. It is confirmed that some of your sensors will work and thus allow you to still use this cool vehicle feature with the hitch installed.
I have included a link to a video showing an example installation of this hitch for you.
