We can help you with selecting a 2-inch Class III hitch for your 2017 Cadillac XT5.
We offer options from Curt and etrailer that you can see on the linked page. Both hitches offer similar capacities so based on lower cost I recommend the etrailer option # e62AR that you referenced. I linked a complete installation video that shows you the entire process.
Towing requires a few additional components. I suggest the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit # 989900 which includes multiple hitch balls and ball mounts of differing sizes for flexibility. You will also need a wiring harness to operate the trailer's lights. For 4-pole wiring use part # 118720; for 7-way wiring use # 118276. Be sure to check your owner's manual for the car's towing capacity before towing a trailer.
And for using a bike rack be sure to select a 2-inch Class III-compatible bike rack such as the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR or one of the others shown on the linked page. The two linked article on hitch racks will help you select the best match for your type of bikes and for a good fit at the back of the XT5.
