Recommendation For Replacement Of Factory Brake Controller In 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500
Question:
Can I simply remove the plug from my factory controller on my 2016 Silverado 3500 and plug in the Techonsha P3 pigtail? My factory trailer plug has both types of trailer connections 7 and 4 wire My factory unit is extremely sensitive and I have many reported trailer disconnected-trailer connected messages. Chevy says their side is OK and the trailer has been checked 100 and worked perfectly with my 2013 F150 factory controller. Have read that some factory systems are ultra sensitive and an after market controller might solve my problem. Thanks

The Tekonsha Plug-In Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 3016 is a simple plug in connection that will work with your factory 7-way and won't impact your factory 4-way. For your brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. It is a great brake controller that will give you proportional braking on your trailer, which means that whatever force you apply the brakes in your truck, the same amount of force at the same time will be applied to your trailer. The P3 offers a very nice LCD screen that takes the deciphering of codes out of the equation and it runs constant diagnostics to ensure everything is working properly. It is simple to read and use and is also adjustable to your driving preferences. It has 3 levels of boost to choose from to make it even more convenient. You will be blown away by the differences from your factory brake controller.
