Recommendation on a Platform Bike Rack That Will Carry Both Adult And Kids Bikes

Question:

I would like to use this to transport my bike and a kids bike. Are the distances between the wheel holders individually adjustable? The the adult bike has a carbon fiber frame and the kids is standard 20" bike.

The Swagman Semi 2.0 Platform Bike Rack, # S64686, would work well with your carbon fiber framed bike. The bike rack uses a wheel hook arm design to secure the bikes to the rack. These hook arms will not be in contact of the frame of your bike.

The Swagman Semi 2.0 can carry a bike with a wheelbase as large as 50 inches and as small as 37 inches. So, if the wheelbase of the kids bike falls in between these numbers, then the bike can be secured to the bike rack.

If the wheelbase of the kids bike will not work on the Swagman rack, then I recommend the Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Rack, # KU74FR. The Kuat rack uses the same wheel hook arms like the Swagman rack, but can carry smaller wheel base bikes, like a kids bike. The Kuat rack is also a tilting rack and can be used in either a 1-1/4 and 2 inch receiver hitches. The Kuat rack is priced more economically then the Swagman rack.
