Weight distribution is largely determined by the total tongue weight. The total tongue weight is the tongue weight of your loaded trailer along with the cargo weight of anything behind the rear axle of your Nissan Titan. The tongue weight of your trailer is typically 10-15% of the total weight. I've attached an article to help.
Based on that 10-15% of a 6,000 lb trailer, I recommend the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 10K GTW, 1K TW, # RP66559. This system is designed for a total tongue weight between 500 and 1000 lbs. It has friction in brackets and in head that works to prevent and correct trailer sway. This system uses trunnion spring bars that will hold firmly to automotive style friction pads similar to the brake pads on most vehicles. We took this system through an obstacle course earlier this year and it handles extremely well. It is easy to install and easy to remove as well.
You will need either a 2 inch hitch ball like # A-90 or a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball like # 19286.
I recommend a hitch lock like the Bulldog Lifelong Trailer Hitch Lock for 2" Hitches - Flush - 2-1/2" Span - Stainless # BD580402, to protect your investment.
