Taillight Wiring Converter for Motorcycle with 5-Pole Wiring to Join Trailer with 4-Pole Wiring

Question:

Motorcycle has 5 pin flat connector for the trailer. My trailer has a 4 pin connector. Need an adapter. Help!

We do offer trailer wiring adapters that will convert a vehicle 5-pole to a trailer 4-pole format but for your application on a motorcycle that has separate stop and turn light wiring, you will need to install a converter that combines them onto the same wire. Standard trailer wiring is formatted with stop and turn light signals on the same wires, the yellow wire carrying LEFT stop/turn and the green carrying RIGHT stop/turn.

You can use Tail Light Converter part # C56175 to combine the separate signals for your trailer. Please refer to the linked photo that shows the left-hand 5-wire input side of the controller that will connect to the bike's wiring; each pigtail lead is labeled. The right-hand 4-wire output side provides a 4-pole connector that will mate with the trailer's 4-pole.
