Installing a RoadMater RoadWing Using a 2 Inch Adapter Sleeve on a 2-1/2 Inch Trailer Hitch
Question:
My 2014 GMC 2500 HD has a 2.5 inch receiver with a 2 inch adapter sleeve that fits inside. Will the 4400 fit on this?

Expert Reply:
Using an reducer sleeve like the Curt Reducer Sleeve 2-1/2 to 2 inches, # C45405, and your 2 inch ball mount, the Road Master Road Wing Mud Flap # RM-4400 will attach to the hitch of your 2014 GMC 2500 HD.
The Road Master Mud Flap is designed to fit over a 2 x 2 inch ball mount and attach to the ball mount with bolts. You cannot attach the mud flaps directly to the reducer and then install in hitch. You must use a ball mount in conjunction with the Road Master Road Wing mud flaps.
Also, most reducer sleeves will stick out a couple inches when installed in the vehicle's trailer hitch. You might want to keep this distance in mind when installing the mud flap. If the reducer sleeve protrudes 2 inches from the hitch opening, then the mud flap and ball mount will be 2 inches closer to whatever you will be towing. Just make sure that this distance will not interfere with your tow setup.
