Does Center Pin of Isolation Solenoid PK5231201 Need a Fuse Protection

Question:

Hello, Id like to install the Battery Isolation Solenoid PK5231201 and use the Firestone Fuse Circuit Tap Kit F2526 to tap into a 12V Ignition signal. However, Im not sure what size fuse to use for signal from the fuse tap to the solenoid. I see that the solenoid is rated for 80 amps, but I think that is for the current that it is cutting off, not the draw from the switching mechanism of the solenoid itself. Can you offer me some guidance? If the draw of the solenoid is actually 80 amps, then I will need a different solution as the fuse tap kit is only rated for 30 amps.

You would not need to fuse the circuit that powers the center pin of the part # PK5231201. This only draws 1/2 an amp and does not power anything so circuit protection would not be needed. It's only function is to close the circuit to let the voltage pass through the other two pins.
