need to know what kind of 5th wheel hitch id need for a 2006 1500 chevy silverado 5and a half foot bed

For your truck bed that is 5-1/2 feet long there is only one slider hitch that would have enough clearance to allow you to make tight turns. For that you would need the Demco Hijacker part # DM8550040. This will automatically slide back 22-1/2 inches and would work well.

For rails you would need the custom install kit part # DM8552009-71. This is a custom install kit that minimizes drilling and install time over universal kit.
