Recommended Hitch Mounted Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes With 5 Inch Tires
Question:
We are shopping for a bike carrier like Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2-Bike Carrier. Can this be used on a camper or RV that has a 2in. receiver hitch? somewhere I read that this should not be used on a towed vehicle. Please recommend a electric bike carrier that will support a pair of 60 pound bikes with 4 inch tires to be used on a camper or a pickup truck. Thanks,

Many bike racks are not recommended for use on the back of an RV, and we don't have any with the capacity for two 60 lb bikes. To ensure you can carry the bikes and tow the trailer with your truck, I recommend getting a 2 Inch Front Hitch Receiver and installing the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2-Bike Carrier for Electric Bicycles - 2" Hitch - Tilting, # HLY84FR, that you referenced.
If you can let me know the year, make, and model of your tow vehicle, I will be happy to see if we have a front mount hitch option available for you.
Another Bike Carrier that would work for your truck that I'd recommend is the Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 # TH83JV. This will accommodate 2 bikes 60 lbs each with 4 inch tires. I've attached a video of this rack for you.
This option doesn't reduce the towing capacity of your rear trailer hitch, which using an adapter would decrease by 50% and you don't have to worry about clearance issues with the bikes and trailer.
