Which B&W Companion Hitch is Recommended for 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with 6-1/2 ft Bed
Question:
I have a 2009 Silverado 2500HD crew cab with the 6.5 box. There is a BandW hidden gooseneck installed. I am looking for fifth wheel that will connect via the gooseneck fittings already in place, but cannot decide between the stationary one or the slider ~$500 more. Which do you recommend and why?

Since you have a short bed truck (6-1/2 foot bed) you will need a slider hitch to allow you to make tight turns. A slider hitch allows you to move the head of the hitch back several inches when you are in a parking lot so that the truck and trailer can be in a tight turn without having truck cab and gooseneck trailer interference.
Because of that you would need the part # BWRVK3400 which is the slider Companoin hitch. The only way you could get away with the stationary Companion part # BWRVK3500 is if the nose of your truck was specifically designed to be narrow and allow turning clearance with a stationary hitch. This is highly unlikely.
