Will Voyager Brake Controller That Is Not Perfectly Horizontal Work On 2015 Ram 1500
Question:
After several adjustments I got the controller installed and once installed discovered the controller is crooked. I double checked everything and the dash has a natural curve to it already by a couple of degrees. The controller is upright by 55 degrees which should be fine according to manual. My concern is the controller going to work properly be off from true center by 6 degrees to the right?

I called my contact at Tekonsha and asked about the installation of your Voyager brake controller, part # 39510 on your 2015 Ram 1500.
They told me that the 6-degrees of pitch you have when the brake controller is installed may not be any issue but the only way to truly know is by testing it. Make sure you are in a safe area and test the braking action. If it is erratic and the brakes do not work well, you may want to step up to a brake controller like the P2, part # 90885. It has an electronic accelerometer that is more forgiving with the horizontal mounting. You can use the plug-in adapter # 3024-P with the P2 if needed.
