Is a Relay Needed to Install Brake Controller in a 2012 Chevy Suburban with Factory 7-Way

Question:

I am looking to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller in a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban. I have the Factory HD Tow Package but a plug under the dash was not available in 2012. I have the 4 wires that I need to splice to located, and the 2 under the hood that are to be connected to the Battery Brake Controller Power and Battery Power to the 7 way Plug. At the bottom of the page for the controller I states that if a custom adapter is not available for the Suburban then I will need to use a 20 Amp Circuit Breaker. I watched all the posted videos from your site 2012 Chevy Truck and 2013 Suburban and it never shows them using a circuit breaker. Is this required for my application?

The breaker is not required in your application. The Prodigy P3 part # 90195 will install just like the video and FAQ article I attached described.
