Replacement Suspension For 2014 Forest River Fifth Wheel
Question:
My suspension is wore out on my fifth wheel. The driver side tire sidewalls are rubbing on the slide out mechanism. The trailer has 2 - 6k axles under it. I think I want to go to a wet bolt kit with HD shackle straps. Which kit should I order? I Called Lippert, and they said my chassis was built new with the Never Failinch bushing and should be good for life, but your warranty expired. I would like to replace the Rubber Equalizers, as the mounting and pivot holes are elongated. Can I get wet bolts for these as well? Are the difference between Lippert or Dexter made ones? I also need new leafs, as the old ones are starting to flatten the top leaf at the end of the second leaf. Stock leafs are 4 leafs and measure 1 3/4inch by 25 1/2inch eye to eye, sitting on the work bench. What will more leafs do? Can I upgrade to the 7k axle leafs to help prolong any flattening again?

We have the replacement suspension parts you need for your 2014 Forest River Fifth Wheel.
The largest capacity springs we offer that have the eye-to-eye length you need are part # e34SR. These measure 25-1/4 inches eye-to-eye. These are a 5-leaf spring and are designed for 6,000-lb capacity axles. Additional leaves in the springs will provide more stability as you mentioned. The 7,000-lb leaf spring we offer, part # e64SR measures 24-7/8 inches long eye-to-eye.
I have attached a link to the tandem-axle suspension kits you can check out. You will need to compare the hangers, equalizers, and shackles to make sure you get the correct size for your trailer.
The Dexter E-Z Flex Heavy Duty Rubber Equalizers we offer, part # K71-652-00 is designed for an axle spacing of 33-inches and designed for axles with a capacity up to 6,000-lbs.
We also offer the suspension components as separate items. I attached links to those as well. Or you can let me know what side shackles, equalizers, and hangers are needed and I will be glad to make some recommendations that will work for you.
