For your 2017 Dodge Durango Citadel with Tow Package, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller with wiring harness, # 90195. This is a proportional brake controller for 1-4 axle trailers that will apply the same braking pressure to your trailer as is given to the tow vehicle, which in this case is your Durango. The Prodigy P3 has some really nice features like the color LCD screen that makes everything really easy to read and understand. It has great safety features and 3 boost levels.
Because you have a Tow Package, there is a simple Tekonsha Plug-In Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers, # TK93VR. I called the manufacturer to double check and it is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Dodge Durango. I have linked an install video for you.
