How Does Titan Disc Brake and Leverlock Actuator Kit T4843300 Create Brake Fluid Pressure

Question:

I am looking at the Titan disc brake kit and leverlock actuator w/electric lockout for single 3500lb axle. How does the actuator tie into the truck brakes to detect the truck brakes being depressed? I believe I have a 6 pole round connector for the trailer lights. Thanks

The Titan Disc Brake and Leverlock Actuator Kit # T4843100 includes a surge coupler with electric lockout that actuates the trailer brakes through the pressure of the trailer compressing the internal master cylinder as the tow vehicle slows. The trailer moving forward toward the tow vehicle compresses the mechanism that creates the brake fluid pressure that engages the disk brakes.

This type of system does not require connection to the vehicle's braking system, nor does it require an electronic brake controller like # 90195 the way electric drum brakes and electric-over-hydraulic (EOH) actuators do.
