Troubleshooting Prodigy Brake Controller Not Powering On When Installed on 2010 Chevy Silverado
Question:
I installed the new 90195 per the instructions and the unit will not power up at all. All fuses good and I checked the wiring white = ground black = 12V + red = cold side brake switch voltage when brake pedal is depressed. The screen is blank dark unit will not show any signs of life. wondering if I received a new unit that is bad right out of the box?? 2010 chevy Silverado with towing package used universal pig tail sent with the unit to wire in.

Since you said your truck is a 2010 Chevy Silverado I would be willing to bet the problem is that you didn't make a couple connections under the hood to activate the brake controller wiring. Check out the help article I attached that shows how to do this plus the install video.
If you want to test the brake controller you can also run the black wire directly to the vehicle battery post and the white wire to the negative post and you should see if come on if it is working properly.
