Tool-Free Ski Carrier for a 2017 Subaru Forester with Aero Crossbars

Question:

Hey guys, I have aero cross bars on my rack. I want something easy to install and will haul only two pair of cross country skis. I have a Yakama JayLow kyack carrier and the instalation could not be easier - dont need any tools at all. I appreciate your thoughts or recomendations. Thanks

We have some excellent roof ski carriers that I think you will like. If you want to stick with Yakima I recommend the FatCat, # Y03095. It is a locking carrier and it does not require tools to mount. It uses hand knobs to secure to the crossbars.

For another option I recommend the Thule SnowPack, # TH7325. This carrier is unique in that the top portion slides out making loading and unloading the skis easier. It is a tool-free installation. There is a knob on the feet that you will tighten to secure the carrier to the crossbars. I have linked a video review of this carrier for you.
